if only …

Bright star reflecting on calm lake water with rocky shore and forest

About Havelai

They say that sometimes, the things we are drawn to as children remain our North Star throughout our lives.

I’m not Jewish, but I have felt a quiet, persistent pull toward Judaism since I was a mere child. It wasn’t just an academic interest; it felt more like a resonance, a deep, ancient curiosity that has stayed with me through all the seasons of my life. Looking back, I wonder if it was—and perhaps still is—a longing to belong to something larger, something rooted in time, wisdom, and a profound reverence for life itself.

That is what this space, Havelai, is dedicated to. It is not a space of expertise, but a space of inquiry. It’s a place for the “if onlys,” the musings of a curious mind, and the simple, everyday practice of cherishing being alive. I am an observer, a student of the stories that shape us, and a seeker of beauty in the quiet moments.

I am so glad you have found your way here. Thank you for walking alongside me in this garden of wishes.
